The type of foundation that transfers the load from the building to the deeper layers of good load-bearing capacity from the surface layers of poor load-bearing capacity is called a pile.
This type of foundation contributes to the static safety of the building by eliminating the possibility of major settlement.
When it comes to general use, reinforced concrete piles are the ones most commonly used.
When these foundations are carried out on the ground itself, it is usually done by pressing through drilling or driving.
Usually, in populated areas, drilled piles are used due to less installation noise.
When it comes to manufacturing technology, it consists of three basic phases:
- Drilling the hole
- Placement of the reinforcement framework
- Concreting of piles

Piles are applied when there is poor bearing capacity of the soil and it is necessary to make the foundation at a greater depth in order to increase the bearing capacity of the soil.
