1. How and at what moment did you come up with the idea to start your own business?
Caring for the elderly has been a part of our daily life throughout my life. We lived closely with my grandparents, and my mother always took care of the elderly neighbors.
2. Have you always wanted to pursue your current activity?
I have always been compassionate towards the elderly. My desire to help and listen has always been appreciated even among my friends. I always wanted to work in a humane profession.
3. What are you proud of in your business?
Integrity, loyalty, and dedication to the job. I approach every person and every challenge with special attention, aiming to help. I believe that is the key to my success. The most important thing is to be humane.
4. What is the secret of your success?
The answer lies in the previous question.
5. How understanding has your environment been, and who has been your greatest support?
Certainly, my family is my greatest support and my dearest people in the environment. It is important to understand in this business that engagement and availability are required 24/7. My loved ones are my backbone, and their support means a lot to me.
6. What is your guiding principle?
For every problem, there is a solution.
7. What has driven you forward, and how have you stayed motivated during tough times?
When a problem arises, it is important to stay calm and tell yourself, "Okay, now we need to solve and overcome this." If you truly love and believe in what you do, it's just a test, and overcoming it makes us even stronger.
8. Why is it better for a woman to be an entrepreneur than to be employed in a company?
The responsibility and engagement are greater, but you can organize your own time, and success is much sweeter.
9. How would you advise new female entrepreneurs or a younger version of yourself?
I became an entrepreneur at the age of 34, and I think that was the right time for me. Before that, I worked in a state-owned company. Don't give up, even if success doesn't come immediately. Be persistent and believe. Everyone has their own time; it's important to learn lessons and always work on improvement and development.
Our home for adult and elderly persons "Home Starcevic" is the first licensed private home for the accomodations and care of elderly persons in Zrenjanin.
We began work in 2008 and we are located in the broader city center in our beautiful and homey ambiance.
The home contains a 1500m2 yard with a summer house, fountain and multiple places for our users to enjoy themselves in the open.
Our home provides luxurious accomodations and excellent care for all our users.
Every room has cable TV, a seating arrangement and an SOS button to call in a nurse or caretaker. Our users can spend time together during the day in the common area, our sitting alon and our dining room.
The bathrooms and the rest of the home are adjusted for persons with diffuculty or inability to move.
All our users gain access to excellent medical care, protection and supervision 24 hours a day because in addition to our caretakers we also employ nurses, social workers, food servers and hygiene workers.
In cooperation with a private polyclinic our users can be examined by specialized doctors and physical therapists.
We organize group and social activities and creative workshops with a social worker.
Our kind and professional staff will make sure that our home is full of warmth and love. Their main goals is to ensure the health, safety, comfort and happiness of our users.
